Once she returned home back to Colombia she went on to work as a professional dancer, touring and performing with two national artist and appearing in their music videos. Maria also had an appearance in a national TV show and was casted for a handful of commercials. At the time she decided she would pursue her Master’s degree in Human Genetics, which landed her in Montreal, a city that introduced her to heels.
