Leslie Cheng is an accomplished dance educator and choreographer with over 20 years of cumulative experience in dance training,
performance, and mentorship. Her extensive background in dance education began at Claude Watson School for the Arts, where she graduated as a Dance Major, and continued with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Dance from York University. She further advanced her training through the Teacher Training Program at Canada’s National Ballet School.
As Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Leslie brings a comprehensive and versatile approach to ballet instruction, drawing from the RAD, as well as Cecchetti, and Vaganova methodologies. Throughout her career, she has taught at Canada’s National Ballet School and at respected studios across Canada and Asia, guiding dancers from recreational and competitive levels to pre-professional training.
Recognized for her strong technical expertise, artistic insight, and commitment to excellence, Leslie has successfully prepared students for examinations, performances, competitions, and advanced training programs. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes technical precision, artistry, musicality, discipline, and healthy movement practices. Passionate about nurturing each student’s individual potential, Leslie is dedicated to inspiring confidence, fostering creativity, and helping dancers achieve their goals both in and beyond the studio.
