In Partnership with The Circus Fix, we are proud to offer you a Circus Program that features Ground and Aerial Classes! The Circus Fix, managed by Jamie Holmes, will be bringing their expertise and experience to head the silks program at CDC. Silks is a beautiful combination of circus and dance. Sophisticated and elegant, the combination of strength, flexibility and artistry will get you floating on air while toning the entire body. On top of ongoing our aerial silks courses, we have ground circus classes and open gym (for intermediate and advanced students) different workshops in aerial hoop, lollipop lyra, aerial straps, ropes, handstands, tumbling and more!

DROP-IN CLASSES

 

Aerial Silks

Drop-In Class ALL LEVELS

(Adult Only)

This is a class for all levels - who is just starting or want to practice the basics and teach you the fundamentals of aerial silks. This is a drop-in class and not a progressive course. A good place to start or practice if you are interested in exploring this art form without a commitment!

Saturdays: 12:00pm - 1:15pm
Mondays: 7:00pm - 8:15pm

Flexibility Drop-in Class ALL LEVELS

flexibility class blends dynamic stretches, static holds to enhance your flexibility and joint mobility. Suitable for all levels, Join us for a transformative experience that leaves you feeling more agile, balanced, and connected to your body.

Wednesdays: 8:30pm - 9:30pm

AERIAL SILKS

FOR ALL LEVELS

Aerial Silks - Absolute Beginners

Have you ever wanted to fly? Run away with the circus? Perhaps try out the beautiful art form of aerial silks? Well here is your chance! This is a class for absolute beginners that will start right at the basics and teach you the fundamentals of aerial silks. This class will help to build core elements while building your your strength, endurance and flexibility in order to gain the knowledge and confidence to move onto the beginner aerial silks classes.

 
 

Aerial Silks - Beg/Inter

Build strong aerial foundations and build on the basic movements learned in the Absolute Beginner class. Students will learn new skills and sequences and progressions, with a focus on strong foundations. Class will be a combination of warm up drills, aerial specific conditioning, and a muscle care cool down.

 
 

Acro & Tumbling - Absolute Beginners

Come and safely learn the basic techniques of floor acrobatic movements and tumbling.

 

Partner Acro Workshop

In this workshop we will work on progressions with both static, balancing and dynamic acrobatics with other participants in class. *No experience necessary and you don’t need to bring a partner.

 
 

OPEN GYM

Open Gym training times are open to intermediate-professional level aerialists. There will be a supervisor present, but no instruction. We have silks available for you. You can also bring your own apparatus which the supervisor can set up with our in-house ladder, but you will be required to bring any extra rigging needed from the point down.

Aerial Silks

Performance Class

Join us for a special aerial silks performance class series. We will focus on learning choreography on the silks to present on the last day of class to our friends and family.
Pre-requisite: must have completed AB Silks

WORKSHOPS

 

Splits & Backbends - All Levels

Come to improve your flexibility whatever level you are at.  We will strengthen and lengthen muscles with super flexion and extension exercises.  This class will be a part of our concept video project in our new west end space.

Hoop & Hammock Workshop

Both apparatus' are truly beginner friendly and you will learn all of the basic skills to build strength, learn shapes and different combinations of movements all while being supported within the hammock or hoop.

Partner Acro Workshop

In this one-day workshop we will work on progressions with both static, balancing and dynamic acrobatics with other participants in class. *No experience necessary and you don’t need to bring a partner.

Duo Partner Silks Workshop

In this two-week workshop, we will explore partnering (basing/flying) in different shapes on the aerial silks.
Prerequisite: Must have completed Ab Silks.

CLASS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

*Please wait outside the class until the teacher comes to get you.

*Face masks are optional.

*Please come already dressed in your circus class attire: leggings or similar and an athletic top. Please ensure your back and backs of knees are covered.

*No drop-in’s for registered courses and no make up classes.  Please ensure that you sign up prior to the class series as there are limited spaces available. No refunds available.

WAITLIST POLICIES

All waitlist reservations must have a prepaid class credit. If you do not make it into class the credit will be applied onto your account. There are no refunds with the waitlist.
