Sofia is a Mexican dancer and performer. She began practicing dance at the age of

three, however her love for tap dance began under Marisa Nava’s instruction, ten years

later. She advanced her training internationally at The Chicago Human Rhythm Project,

L.A. Tap Fest, and finally moved to New York City for the ISVP Program at Broadway

Dance Center and complimented her instruction at Steps on Broadway and Peridance

with teachers like Barbara Duffy, Derick Grant, Jared Grimes, Jason Samuels Smith,

Dormesha S. Edwards, among others.

Sofia performed at the Festival Internacional de Jazz & Blues de San Miguel de Allende

with the tap company Percutap, she was the lead female dancer at Sonidos de Navidad

with J- Hann Company, Mona in the short season of Chicago by T-Stage Productions

and had her international debut with Double Take Dance Co in NYC. She has taught in

Mexico, Guatemala, New York City and Toronto.
