Jamee Valin currently works as a solo dance artist, choreographer, educator, performer and producer. Jamee trained at York University and George Brown College for Dance Performance Studies and Fine Arts Cultural Studies as well as mentored with Dreamwalker Dance Company, The Chimera Project's Company B, Across Oceans, Project CPR, MascallDance, PuSh Festival, National Artist Program, and the Cultch Ignite! Dance Mentorship. She has performed and choreographed for a variety of dance festivals including: Dance: Made in Canada, Toronto Fringe, Dusk Dances, Dancing on the Edge, ROMP!, 12 Minutes Max and many more. Jamee has danced for Diamond Tooth Gerties in Dawson City Yukon, Jay9 Dance Projects, The Lovers Cabaret, Sweett Moves Dance Collective and Give Me Brilliance. Miss Valin is a co-producer for To.Be.Announced Choreographic Showcases and Artistic Director of Valence Movement (dance theatre). She has also performed as a Magician's Assistant for John Kaplan's Western Tours and in 2008 York University awarded her "Rookie of the Year" for competitive cheerleading.
As an educator, she has worked for Canada’s Ballet Jorgen, The Landing Dance Centre, True Colours Youth Performance Company, Defy Gravity Dance Co, Quick Ball Change, Broadway Arts Centre, Dance Soul, Toronto Youth Ballet Ensemble, George Brown College's Dance Department and more. Continuing her outreach Jamee is an active adjudicator and panelist traveling to Alberta, Ontario, and BC on a continual basis. She is Level 1 Acrobatic Arts Certified and continues to train in modern, ballet, contemporary and choreographic techniques.
