Jump into a world of colour and fun in this wicked Bollywood workshop for beginners!
Bollywood dance is a fun, energetic dance style used in the Indian film industry. With elements of Indian classical dance, Bhangra, and various Western styles, Bollywood’s high energy and contagious spirit make it the perfect workout for all levels!

Ria Aikat is a dancer and teacher trained in various dance styles including Bharatatnatyam (classical Indian dance), Bollywood, Hip Hop, Ballet, and Tap. Ria recently co-created a Bollywood fusion piece for the Bollywood Monster Mashup festival, which inspired her passion for authentically fusing Indian and western dance styles together.
Ria is currently a GROOVE educator who travels to different schools to facilitate community building and character education sessions through dance and movement. She is also a part-time faculty member at Centennial College where she teaches an Indian dance course in the Dance Performance program. Ria is an artistic director and youth outreach instructor for the non-profit Hip Hop organization Culture Shock Toronto. She has had the opportunity to perform in cities such as San Diego, Washington D.C., Oakland, and Los Angeles.
This is a registered class for adults only. Space is limited and students must pre register to confirm a spot in the class. Registration is based on a first come, first serve basis. Your spot may be lost if you do not attend the first class. Please be aware there are no refunds, credits or make up classes for this workshop.
